His early work was ignored – after all, it was science fiction and was thus treated with the scorn often saved for comic books and romance novels.

From a Playboy article (1996) about RAY BRADBURY one of the most influential and prolific science fiction writers of the 20th century.

Inspiring in it’s own way. Bradbury kept writing, even though he was ignored at first, because he had a vision and a purpose. Over his career he wrote several novels, hundreds of short stories, and even screenplays. His work has permeated our pop culture consciousness. ex: the term “the butterfly effect” was coined from Bradbury’s short story “A Sound of Thunder.”

Bradbury is easily one of my idols and I can only aspire to accomplish a fraction of what he did.
